Leigh Johns OAM

Leigh Johns OAM is a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).

Previously, Leigh held senior roles in government as a Fair Work Commissioner, Chief Counsel of the Fair Work Ombudsman and the CEO of two independent Commonwealth Government statutory agencies. Before joining the public service, Leigh was an experienced senior lawyer in private practice, specialising in employment, workplace relations, equal opportunity and anti-discrimination law.

Leigh was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria. He holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Economica and Bachelor of Laws from Monash University.

Leigh has been involved in a range of not-for-profit organisations for more than 30 years. In 2017 Leigh was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to the community through performing arts and primary health care organisations, and to industrial relations.
