Early Learning Centres

The Y operates over 150 Early Learning Centres, Kindergartens and Preschools across Australia, providing thousands of children each year with the best possible start in life. Our centres are places where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore their world, guided by educators who believe in every child’s capacity to succeed. Together with families, we build learning communities where children thrive in belonging, being, and becoming.
Quality Education and Care for Every Child
Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and built on contemporary evidence about how young children learn best. Every Y service provides learning experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity, communication, and resilience.
Partnering with families
We believe families are children’s first and most important teachers. Y educators work in partnership with parents and carers to understand each child’s strengths, interests, and culture, creating consistent, positive learning environments between home and centre.
A safe and trusted place to grow
Safeguarding children is one of our highest priorities. Every Y educator completes child-safety training, and our centres operate under the Y’s Child Safeguarding Framework. We believe every child has the right to feel safe and be safe, in our care, in their families, and in their communities.
Inclusive, equitable, and diverse
Every Y centre celebrates the uniqueness of each child and family. Our programs reflect and respect diverse cultures, abilities, languages, and identities, ensuring every child feels seen, valued, and included.
A community of lifelong learners
Our educators are committed to ongoing learning and reflective practice. Through professional development and collaboration, they continually enhance their skills and ensure our centres remain vibrant, innovative, and high-quality learning environments

Safety is our highest priority
The Y has a zero tolerance approach to the harm or neglect of any child or young person.
Our national approach to safeguarding ensures all our Y’s are the safest place they can be. We align our policies and procedures to the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, and go beyond this to keep every child and young person in our care safe, healthy and well. With 52 licensing standards, a national safeguarding framework and a safeguarding lead in every Association in our country – we are committed to being child safe.
