Learning for life
Swimming is one of the most important life skills a child can learn. Our nationally accredited programs teach essential water safety, stroke development, and self-rescue skills in a fun, supportive environment. From infants and preschoolers to adults, our lessons are designed to meet swimmers at every stage, building comfort, ability, and a love of the water.
Start early, stay safe
The early years (0–5) are the ideal time to begin learning to swim. At the Y, we encourage families to start early to give children the best possible foundation in water confidence and safety.
Inclusive and accessible for all abilities
We believe swimming should be a level playing field. That’s why the Y offers all-ability swimming programs, ensuring that people with disability feel supported, included, and empowered in the pool. Our SwimAbility program and other adapted lessons are led by qualified instructors who tailor sessions to individual needs.
Pathways to performance
For many swimmers, the Y is where passion begins. We’re proud to have supported athletes who’ve gone on to represent Australia at national and international levels, proof that great swimmers start with strong foundations.
Community safety at our core
Every lesson at the Y is about more than learning strokes, it’s about keeping communities safe. Our aquatic teams partner with local councils and national water safety organisations to promote drowning prevention and lifelong participation in aquatic activity.
